Thank you for booking with us.

We will do our best to ensure that you have a wonderful and safe time in our city.

Even though Toronto is quite safe, compared to most cities in North America, there may present incidents when you will need information to deal with unexpected events.

Hope that this guide will help you.  We suggest that you read and become familiar with such information.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

HOUSERULES

1     No smoking in the unit.

2     Only registered guests can reside in the unit, for security reasons.

3 No parties or public events are allowed on the premises.

4     We are not responsible or liable for any personal injuries or sickness, or loss of personal belongings or valuables.

5     Everything in the loft is free to use, however, they are NOT free to take with you or thrown away without notice.

6 If certain items are stained, damaged or lost, we will have to charge you the cost to replace them.

DEALING WITH GARBAGE

Several garbage bags are provided for you, you can find them under the sink in the kitchen area.

We would appreciate if you can discard your garbage before your departure.  To do so, tie the bag(s) securely, and take it to the back staircase.  KEEP THE DOOR OPEN OR BRING CODE FOR RE-ENTRY.  There are big containers on the lower floor, the ground floor. BLACK FOR GARBAGE, BLUE FOR RECYCLING. Please put your garbage bag(s) in the container and close the container.  Re-enter your unit by going back upstairs.

If the door in the rear staircase (on the second floor) has closed, you must have the code 145 to re-enter. Turn the rear staircase door knob left to reset before entering the code.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU MAKE YOURSELF FAMILIAR WITH THE DOOR LOCK, ON YOUR (SECOND) FLOOR, BEFORE CLOSING THE DOOR.

OTHER THAN TRIGGERING THE FIRE ALARM, THERE IS NO WAY OUT OF THE REAR  STAIRWELL, ON THE GROUND FLOOR, WITHOUT AN ACCESS CODE. IN THE EVENT THAT THE ALARM IS TRIGGERED, THE CITY OF TORONTO WILL CHARGE $1250 FOR THE MANDATORY DISPATCH OF FIRE TRUCKS.

OF NOTE, DO NOT EXIT THE BUILDING VIA THE REAR EXIT ON THE GROUND FLOOR.  THE REAR EXIT, IF OPENED BY MISTAKE, WILL SOUND THE FIRE ALARM AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WILL BE ALERTED TO COME TO OUR PREMISE.

REGARDING COOKING AND SMOKE DETECTOR

In case you are cooking, and smoke accumulates and sets off the smoke detector in your unit. Note that this alarm is to alert you of the situation. Immediately turn off the cooktop or oven and turn on the fan, and wait for the smoke to dissipate. In this situation, please DO NOT open the front door. If you open the door, and the smoke sets off the alarm in the hallway, this will ALERT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WILL COME TO OUR PREMISE.

NUMBERS TO CALL IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

In case of emergency, call 911.

ACCORDING TO THEIR WEBSITE:

When police, fire or medical emergencies occur, call 911.

Remain calm and speak clearly. Identify which emergency service you require – police, fire or ambulance – and be prepared to provide the following information:

  • a description of what is happening

  • the location

  • your name, address and telephone number

Please remain on the line to provide additional information if requested to do so by the call taker.

Do not hang up until the call taker tells you to do so.

Toronto’s residents and visitors have access to 911 services in up to 240 languages.

When calling 911, the Emergency Services call taker can access a translation service if needed. It is helpful, but not necessary, to be able to state the language required to the call taker in English. This will assist the call taker in connecting to the most appropriate translator.
